The Travelers The Travelers started with an idea from Robert Holder and Trey Hooten in 1979 to provide quality live music for Texans. These two singer/songwriters got together and called other singer/songwriters and formed "The Travelers".
The Travelers started playing local venues for a couple of years and then branched to larger territories. In the first five years The Travelers were playing from Brownwood to Tyler, Wichita Falls to Houston and all over Texas.
They started playing one or two bookings every couple of weeks and before to long they were playing several nights a week. In 1985 the Travelers had to finance a new sound & lighting system to handle the jobs they were booked for. They purchased two trailers to transport their equipment.
The Travelers had two booking agents to cover all of the calls that were coming in from events centers mangers and club owner/managers. On many occasion the Travelers were called upon to open for big name artist across Texas.
The guys love playing in Central Texas. This is where their friends and families are. They have played in so many events in Central Texas including the Waco Brazos nights, Holland Corn Fest, Florence Friendship days, Lampasas Spring Ho, Killeen Festival of Flags, Copperas Cove Rabbit Fest and Fireman's Ball dances.
Today the Travelers are still playing with the same goal. To give their fans quality live variety music. The Guy's are currently working and a new album with new original songs. The songs that the Travelers have recorded in the past are still available . They have been digitally re-mastered by their new recording label.
