COVE COUNTRY OPRY HISTORY
The Cove Country Opry was started in 2001 as a fundraiser for the Copperas Cove Fire Department by Hilde Hilton. The show was originally supposed to be a temporary show to raise funds to purchase a thermal imager for the Fire Dept. The Opry did raise the funds for a thermal imager and the Central Texas community asked Hilde to please keep this show going every month. In 2003 the Cove Country Opry was changed from a sole proprietorship to a non-profit organization. The Cove Country Opry has grown in to one of the best live music shows in Texas.
The Opry has been featured in many of the Texas travel and tourism magazines and also many of the country music and gospel music publications.
What makes our show unique is our audience and the variety of music and the talented Music Artist that perform on this show says Trey Hooten, Director of the Cove Country Opry.
I have watched this show grow in to one of the best live music shows that I have ever seen or been involved with. Our Central Texas audience are the greatest people. Without all of the support from our audience members this show couldn't have stayed in business for all of these years.
